Dear colleagues, The Writers’ Trust of Canada is now accepting applications for the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers. For more details, read on or see the attached. Thank you, Amanda Hopkins Program Coordinator — RBC BRONWEN WALLACE AWARD FOR EMERGING WRITERS A prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the best work of short fiction. Two honourable mentions will each receive $1,000 prizes. Applicants should submit 5 – 10 pages (up to 2,500 words) of previously unpublished fiction. To be eligible a candidate must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, under the age of 35, unpublished in book form and without a book contract, but whose literary work has appeared in at least one independently edited magazine or anthology. The candidate’s name, address, telephone number, and details confirming their eligibility must appear only on the cover sheet accompanying the manuscript. All pages must be consecutively numbered. Entries will not be returned. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2010.
