church bells sing a north wind breathes vibrant conversation down the long laneway home. Our whispered thoughts touch beneath the warm quilt of your tiny limestone apartment. Description The success of our summer poetry event has inspired us to host a new poetry event this month:
Fred Wah and Friends
Upstairs at the ANZA Club
The amazing line-up of poets features Fred Wah plus Daphne Marlatt, Colin Browne, Jeff Derksen, Roy Miki, and George Bowering, who will emcee the event.
We would like to congratulate Fred Wah on being shortlisted for the Relit Poetry Award for his title from last year, Sentenced to Light.
We would also like to thank everyone who came out for the wonderful event we held at the ANZA Club on June 10 featuring bill bissett, Adeena Karasick, rob mclennan and Garry Thomas Morse. The poets gave rollicking performances to a very appreciative packed house. After the readings concluded, the crowd used the bartenders’ services and gave themselves over to conversation and libation. Julie Peters broadcast parts of these performances on her CITR show.
You can check them out by following these links:
