The Downtown Memory Project

The Harbour Centre
Downtown Memory Project

“Memory Wall”

We invite you to stroll down the corridor across from rooms 1500-1530 on the main floor of the Spencer Building (SFU Harbour Centre) to read stories sent in by people who responded to our request for written stories about memory of place.

Their stories reveal a very fascinating history of this area — buildings and streets and shops — and what they meant to the people who frequented this area when it was the “downtown” of Vancouver.

There are also quotes from these stories on the library windows which you can enjoy while walking down Hastings Street.

We hope you enjoy these stories and welcome any feedback we can pass along to the authors.

The exhibit started May 12 and will continue until June 15, 2008.
