Although taking mood stabilizing medications are an important part of managing Bipolar Disorder for many people, there are also a variety of self-management techniques that can be used to help lessen the symptoms of the condition and potentially improve quality of life.
Dr. Michalak will discuss some common psychoeducational and cognitive behavioural techniques that you can try at home or in collaboration with your clinician or family members.
Dr. Michalak, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Mood Disorders Centre in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. She is an internationally recognized expert in psychological issues in bipolar disorder.
